Purification Ending Route — Eavesdropping Questline, Father's Bell Charm, Owl (Father) & Aromatic Flower
The Purification Ending is a noble alternate conclusion to Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. In this path, Sekiro uncovers a secret ritual allowing him to sacrifice his own life using the Mortal Blade so Lord Kuro can live on as a normal mortal man. Pursuing this ending unlocks the Father's Bell Charm, Hirata Estate Memory II, Prayer Beads #33 & #34, and the secret boss fight against Owl (Father).

Route Step: After defeating Great Shinobi Owl on Ashina Castle rooftop, go downstairs and rest at Kuro's Room idol. Speak with Kuro fully. Then, stand directly behind the paper screen partition wall on the right side of the room. Press against the wall until an eavesdrop prompt appears. You will hear him whispering "...do what must be done".
Route Step: Go upstairs and speak with Emma. She will ask if you agree that Kuro must not be allowed to die; say yes. Rest at the idol, then speak to her again to receive Tomoe's Note. She will tell you she is going to visit Tomoe's grave. Fast travel to the Old Grave idol in Ashina Castle. Walk down the left path to the gravestones and talk to Emma again.
Route Step: She will say she is going to speak with the Sculptor. Travel to the Dilapidated Temple idol. Do not enter the building yet. Walk around to the back exterior wall of the Sculptor's building. Stand near the hole in the wood to eavesdrop on Emma and the Sculptor. Enter the temple and confront Emma about what you overheard. Exhaust her dialogue to receive the Father's Bell Charm!
Route Step: Pray at the Buddha statue inside the Dilapidated Temple (the one near the Sculptor). You will enter a harder, altered version of Hirata Estate (Memory II). Clear the area, defeating Lone Shadow Masanaga (Prayer Bead #33), Juzou II (Prayer Bead #34), and the secret main boss Owl (Father) in the burning basement chamber to claim the vital Aromatic Flower! (See Part 12: Hirata Estate II for detailed boss strategies).
Route Step: With the Aromatic Flower secured, proceed with the rest of the game normally. Slay the Divine Dragon in Fountainhead Palace (to obtain Divine Dragon's Tears). Return to the Ashina Reservoir secret passage and defeat Sword Saint Isshin in the silver reed field to trigger the endgame sequence.
Route Step: Walk up to Lord Kuro lying on the ground in the silver field. Select "Administer Divine Dragon's Tears and Aromatic Flower". Watch the emotional Purification Ending cutscene where Wolf sacrifices himself so Kuro can live a normal mortal life!
You have completed the Purification ending! Your next step is to begin New Game+ from the Dilapidated Temple idol.
