Act 8 — Ashina Ablaze (Endgame Climax): Returning from Fountainhead Palace, Ashina Castle is engulfed in fire during the full-scale Interior Ministry invasion. Wolf cleans up final mini-bosses (Prayer Beads #38–40), faces optional super-boss Demon of Hatred, and battles Sword Saint Isshin in the silver reed field to conclude the campaign.

Area Clearance Order: The Interior Ministry has fully invaded Ashina, setting it ablaze. Fast travel is mostly disabled again. From the Kuro's Room, climb out the window. Descend through the castle to the Ashina Outskirts stairway. Here, defeat Shigekichi of the Red Guard for Prayer Bead #38. Then, make your way toward the Ashina Reservoir. Defeat Seven Ashina Spears - Masaji Oniwa (using Puppeteer Ninjutsu on his ally) to claim Prayer Bead #39. Finally, find the elite samurai Ujinari Mizou near the Ashina Dojo downstairs to claim Prayer Bead #40, completing your final necklace.

Area Clearance Order: Before heading to the final battle, traverse the burning Ashina Outskirts backward toward the Dilapidated Temple. Use the kites to grapple across the chasm. You will arrive in a massive battlefield where you previously fought Gyoubu Oniwa. Here, you must face the optional super-boss, the Demon of Hatred. Defeat him using the Malcontent Whistle and Suzaku's Lotus Umbrella to claim his Memory and 2 Lapis Lazuli.

The Sculptor's Transformation: The Demon of Hatred is the Sculptor (Sekijo) transformed into a vessel of wrath by the karmic flames of war consuming Ashina.

Area Clearance Order: Head back to the Ashina Reservoir Idol. Proceed past where you fought Seven Spears Masaji. Go through the secret passage door (the same one you used in the prologue) to emerge into the silver reed field for the game's final confrontation.
Area Clearance Order: Speak to Kuro, then prepare for the ultimate test. First, defeat Genichiro, Way of Tomoe (Phase 1). After defeating Genichiro, the true final boss emerges: Sword Saint Isshin (Phases 2–4). Utilize every skill you've learned—deflection, Mikiri Counters, lightning reversals, and combat arts—to best him in a spectacular 4-phase endurance battle.
Phase 1 (Genichiro, Way of Tomoe): Dodge behind his opening Black Mortal Draw. Maintain aggressive pressure and Mikiri Counter his thrust.
Phase 2 (Katana Sword Saint): Maintain tight deflection rhythm. When he sheath-flashes for Ashina Cross, sidestep right or double-parry. Mikiri Counter his thrusts.
Phase 3 (Spear & Pistol Isshin): Deflect his 4-round pistol bursts. Mikiri Counter his telegraphed long spear thrusts to build posture rapidly!
Phase 4 (Lightning Isshin): Jump into the air when lightning strikes his spear. Absorb the bolt mid-air and hit R1 before landing to hurl lightning back, stun-locking Isshin to ultimate victory!
Open Gate Blade: Genichiro uses the Black Mortal Blade ("Open Gate") to sacrifice his life to summon Isshin Ashina from the underworld in his prime to defend Ashina.

You have reached the final climax of the game. Sword Saint Isshin awaits in the silver reed field. Defeat him to conclude your journey and present the tears to Lord Kuro.
