Recommended Stats Before Rennala: Level 40-50 | Vigor 30 | Weapon +8 to +12
1. Where to Start & Early Steps
- Lake-Facing Cliffs: After exiting Stormveil, this is your first view of Liurnia. Follow the path down to the lake level.
- Map Fragments: Liurnia is massive and hard to navigate without a map. Grab the three fragments (East, North, and West) located at the monoliths along the flooded roads.
- Iji the Blacksmith: Located in the northwest on the path to Caria Manor. He sells Somber Smithing Stones which are vital for upgrading unique weapons.
2. Things to Do Before the Boss
The Academy is locked when you arrive. You must find a key to enter.
- Academy Glintstone Key: The meeting place map you find at the South Raya Lucaria Gate points to a rock formation west of the academy. The key is guarded by Glintstone Dragon Smarag. You don't have to fight the dragon; you can ride in on Torrent, grab the key from the corpse behind him, and run away.
- Rya & Blackguard Big Boggart: Find Rya in a pavilion in the southern lake. Buy her necklace back from Boggart at the Boilprawn Shack. This starts her quest and gets you access to Boiled Prawns, a fantastic defensive item.
- Raya Lucaria Crystal Tunnel: Found in the northeast corner of the lake. Clear this to get the Smithing-Stone Miner's Bell Bearing [1], allowing you to buy level 1 and 2 Smithing Stones indefinitely.
3. Academy of Raya Lucaria (Legacy Dungeon)
This is the main legacy dungeon of Liurnia, filled with sorcerers. Magic defense is key here.
- Spelldrake Talisman: Equip any talismans or armor that boost Magic Damage Negation. The sorcerers hit very hard from a distance.
- Mini-Boss: Red Wolf of Radagon: Very fast and aggressive. Dodge towards him to avoid his magic swords. He has low health, so aggressive play is rewarded.
- The Courtyard: After the wolf, you face a courtyard full of enemies. The safest route is to hug the right side, jump on the rooftops, and navigate to the Moongrum, the Carian Knight guarding the elevator to the boss.
4. Boss Strategy: Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon
- Weaknesses: Physical damage (especially Bleed). She is highly resistant to Magic. Do not use magic against her.
- Phase 1 (The Library): She floats in a bubble. Look for the students on the ground glowing gold and throwing books. Hit three of them to break her bubble. When she falls, attack her directly. Retreat when she starts glowing to avoid her AoE explosion.
- Phase 2 (The Moon): Immediately sprint sideways or towards her to avoid her opening laser beam (Comet Azur). Keep the pressure on her to stagger her and interrupt her spellcasting.
- Summons: Use aggressive summons (like Lone Wolves) in Phase 2. When Rennala summons spirit ashes of her own (like a dragon or bloodhound knight), do not fight them; just run away until they despawn, and focus solely on Rennala.
