Artifacts in Marvel Future Fight serve two fundamental functions: they fuel your character's secondary Instinct Combat Stats and unlock Exclusive Character Passive Abilities that can completely redefine how a hero performs in PvP and PvE.
From game-breaking immortality passives (such as Carnage and Wolverine) to massive damage scaling against Super Villains, acquiring the right artifact is often the deciding factor between winning or losing in high-tier competitive modes.
1. Generic Celestial Artifacts vs. Character-Exclusive Artifacts
Artifacts range in rarity from 1-Star to 6-Stars and belong to one of two categories:
- Generic Celestial Artifacts (1-Star to 6-Star): Provide flat Instinct stats and one random secondary passive (e.g. "Increases basic damage dealt to Pure Evil by +X%"). Any character can equip them.
- Exclusive Character Artifacts (3-Star to 6-Star): Feature the character's portrait. When equipped on that specific character, it unlocks an exclusive passive skill in addition to their instinct stats. Equipping it on any other character only gives basic stats without the passive!
2. The 4 Instinct Types
Instinct is an independent stat system that bypasses normal defense and deals additional unmitigated damage. Every character belongs to one of four Instinct types:
Associated with heroes who fight for law and order (e.g. Captain America, Spider-Man).
Associated with fierce fighters, predators, and anti-heroes (e.g. Wolverine, Carnage, Venom).
Associated with cosmic beings and supreme minds (e.g. Jean Grey, Silver Surfer, Adam Warlock).
Associated with annihilators and heavy conquerors (e.g. Thanos, Hulk, Gorr, Ghost Rider).
Matching Instinct Rule
When equipping an artifact, always match the artifact's Instinct type to the character's native Instinct. Matching instincts grants a +50% bonus to the artifact's primary instinct stats!
3. Meta Game-Changing Exclusive Artifacts
Some character artifacts are so powerful they fundamentally shift the competitive landscape:
Carnage / Wolverine / Hela Immortality Passive
Passive Effect: When HP falls below 1%, grants immunity to all damage and prevents death for 4 to 7 seconds while boosting attack.
Why It's Meta: Makes these characters almost impossible to one-shot in Timeline Battle and Otherworld Battle, allowing them to turn around matches from 1 HP.
Ghost Rider (Robbie Reyes / Johnny Blaze) Flame Burst
Passive Effect: Drastically amplifies fire damage and grants invincibility penetration when striking enemies.
Why It's Meta: Pushes Ghost Rider's already monstrous damage ceiling in GBR Dormammu and WBL to new records.
Silver Surfer / Sentry Reflect & Counter
Passive Effect: Increases reflect damage cap and reduces enemy additional pierce damage.
Why It's Meta: Shuts down glass-cannon attackers before they can finish their initial skill burst.
4. Farming Celestial Essence & The Artifact Chest
You can farm and pull artifacts without spending crystals:
- Dimension Rift: Clear daily rifts with your alliance to earn guaranteed 1-star to 4-star artifacts.
- Dismantle Useless Artifacts: Dismantling 1-star, 2-star, and 3-star generic artifacts yields Celestial Essence.
- The Celestial Essence Chest: In the Store → Dimension Chest → Artifact tab, spend your accumulated Celestial Essence for free pulls on the 3-star to 6-star Exclusive Artifact Chest!
