Far Cry Primal Retrospective Review

80 / 100 (Great)

Far Cry Primal bravely replaced assault rifles, rocket launchers, and sports cars with bows, clubs, and sabretooth tigers. The prehistoric setting of Oros feels genuinely untamed and dangerous—especially at night when wolf packs stalk you in the shadows. The Beast Master system, letting you command bears, badgers, and owls, remains one of the most innovative and satisfying companion systems Ubisoft has ever built.

The Good: Beast Master taming mechanics, atmospheric prehistoric soundscape, visceral melee and spear combat.
The Bad: Repetitive resource collecting, story lacks a strong central villain like Vaas or Pagan Min.
