General Tips & Tricks
Mastering the terrain and your vehicle is essential for survival in this open landscape.
- Vehicle Mastery: Utilize your tactical vehicle not just for transport, but as mobile cover. You can park it horizontally across chokepoints to block enemy fire while you engage. Don't forget you can resupply ammo from the trunk.
- Scout Before Striking: The open terrain means snipers have incredibly long sightlines. Before approaching any outpost, find a nearby hill, pull out your binoculars, and tag every enemy. Take out the snipers in the watchtowers first before moving in.
- Armor Scavenging: Stock up on armor plates from defeated heavily armored enemies, as this mission has prolonged combat encounters with limited safe zones. Look for armor plate boxes inside the armory tents of the optional outposts.
Coin Location
There is one hidden coin in this mission that will grant you extra currency for your Safe House upgrades.
- Coin: Found in the command tent of the northernmost optional outpost (the one with the large radar dish). After clearing the outpost, go into the large green tent. The coin is resting on the main desk next to the radio equipment and a map of the region.
Detailed Walkthrough: Phase 1 - The Insertion & Vehicle Acquisition
Secure the initial insertion area and acquire your mobile command vehicle.
- Initial Skirmish: Clear the landing zone. Use this small skirmish to get used to the open sightlines.
- Tactical Vehicle: Acquire the tactical vehicle marked by your squad leader. It serves as transport, mobile cover, and an ammo resupply point.
- Mission Progress Prerequisite: You must interact with the vehicle's radio to receive the outpost coordinates before you can leave the insertion zone.
Detailed Walkthrough: Phase 2 - Securing Outposts (Optional but Recommended)
The open world allows you to tackle enemy outposts to gather intel and weaken the final objective.
- Scout & Strike: Approach the three marked outposts. Before engaging, find a nearby hill, use your binoculars to tag every enemy, and take out snipers in the watchtowers first.
- Rare Drops: Clearing the outposts rewards you with heavy weapons and killstreaks. The elite defender at the northern outpost has a high chance to drop an Incendiary Grenade Blueprint.
- Hidden Safe (MISSABLE): Inside the westernmost outpost's armory tent, there is a hidden safe holding $1,000 cash. Make sure you loot it before initiating the final bunker assault, as the open world becomes locked off afterwards!
Detailed Walkthrough: Phase 3 - The Bunker Breach
Proceed to the main target location for a brutal close-quarters fight.
- The Approach: If you didn't clear the outposts, expect heavy mortar fire on the approach road. Drive fast and abandon the vehicle at the anti-vehicle barricades.
- Close-Quarters Combat: Breach the final structure. Use explosives to clear the tight hallways against heavily armored shotgunners.
- Unlockable: Completing the mission after clearing all three outposts unlocks the "Desert Fox" Player Title.
- Secure & Extract: Secure the central command room to trigger the extraction sequence and complete the mission.
