Area Summary

The West Fortress houses the sinister laboratories of demon scientist Guildenstern. Cloaked Chameleon Genma and heavy Barabazu clubs guard the containment vats.

Part 3 completed, Queen Hecuba defeated, all 3 weapons (Raizan, Enryu, Shippu) in possession.

What to Upgrade First

Max all 3 Orbs to Level 3 (5,000 Red Souls each). This is mandatory to unlock all Level 3 Blue, Red, and Green Demon Gateways across the entire game world.

Primary Objectives

Break the Level 2 Red Seal on the West Fortress bridge.
Acquire the Tanegashima Matchlock Gun from the armory vault.
Solve Puzzle Box #4 (5-7-1) to claim Power Jewel #4.
Upgrade all 3 Elemental Orbs to Level 3 at the Magic Mirror.

Step-by-Step Walkthrough

Step 1: West Fortress Breach & Matchlock Gun

Slash through the Level 2 Red Seal gate leading into the West Fortress courtyard. Invisible Chameleon Genma will stalk you; track the distortion in the air or fire Shippu Wind Magic to reveal them. Inside the armory vault, unlock the chest to acquire the Tanegashima Matchlock.

Step 2: Guildenstern's Laboratory & Puzzle Box #4

In the dissection lab, collect Fluorite #6 next to the glass beakers. On the lower tier, solve Puzzle Box #4 (5-7-1) to acquire Power Jewel #4. Farm the regenerating Genma vats until you have enough Red Souls to level Raizan, Enryu, and Shippu all to Level 3.

Pro-Tip (Matchlock Burst Bullets): Loading Burst Bullets into the Matchlock allows you to stagger even massive Barabazu club giants from across the room in a single blast.

Step 3: Level 3 Seal Backtracking Checklist

With all three orbs at Level 3, revisit the prison block (unseal Lv3 Green door for Magic Jewel #4) and the powder furnace (grab Fluorite #7 inside the grate).

Step 4: Boss Encounter — Twin Genma Stalkers (Clothos & Lachesis)

Enter the central containment arena where Guildenstern unleashes the Twin Genma Stalkers.

TACTICS WARNING: Click to Reveal Detailed Boss Tactics & Weaknesses

Boss Profile: Dual agile shadow beasts that flank simultaneously from both sides.

Target Focus: Always concentrate all fire on one twin first. When both are alive, keep moving in a continuous circle to prevent pincer strikes.
Wind Cyclone Lock: Activate Shippu Lv3 Wind Magic to catch both beasts in a tornado vortex. While trapped, blast them with Matchlock Burst Bullets.
Chain Issen Opportunity: When the first twin leaps at you with claws outstretched, perform an Issen counter, then immediately press attack again as the second twin lunges to trigger a devastating Chain Issen (Rensa Issen).
