Major Boss Strategies (Story Spoiler-Free)

A tactical breakdown of how to defeat specific major bosses, keeping the deep lore and story details completely hidden.

1. Giant Squid (Early Game)

The Giant Squid will use its massive tentacle to create dust clouds or violently swipe at you. Your target is its giant glowing eye. Keep your distance, ideally using a Sniper Rifle. Wait for the tentacle to retract, and the moment the eye is exposed, take your shot. If you get caught in the dust, swim out immediately to avoid the follow-up attack.

2. Wolf Eel (Mid Game)

This terrifying creature hides in the walls and lunges out at extreme speeds. Before it attacks, you will see the rocks on the wall start to rumble. Pay attention to these visual cues! Swim completely out of the rumble path. When the eel extends fully and misses you, a glowing, vulnerable section on its tail will be exposed. Shoot the glowing tail.

3. Goblin Shark (Mid-to-Late Game)

The Goblin Shark is highly aggressive and has a very fast dash-and-bite attack. Do not try to out-swim it horizontally. Instead, bait its dash, and immediately swim vertically (up or down). Once it misses the bite, unload your weapon into its flanks. A weapon with high magazine capacity like the Basic Underwater Rifle works well here.

4. Mantis Shrimp (Late Game)

This boss is essentially a boxing match. The Mantis Shrimp will block all frontal attacks with its massive, armored claws. You must play defensively. Wait for it to wind up a massive punch, dodge vertically out of the way, and shoot it directly in the eyes while it recovers. Pro Tip: You can pull a chain to drop a heavy bag—timing the shrimp's punch to hit the heavy bag will stun it, giving you a massive window to deal damage.

5. Klaus, The Great White Shark (Optional / Stormy Night)

Klaus is an optional, incredibly tough boss that appears during a specific stormy night. His signature move involves creating massive underwater whirlpools that will trap you and drastically reduce your movement speed. You must stay highly mobile, saving your dash specifically to escape the whirlpools. Never fight him head-on; always aim for his sides while staying out of the center of the arena.
