Ghost of Tsushima is filled with powerful legendary armors and combat arts, primarily found through Mythic Tales (marked by blue icons). Completing these should be your top priority, as they reward you with the strongest gear in the game. Here is a spoiler-free breakdown of the most important things to seek out.
As you progress through the game, certain equipment and story decisions are unavoidably tied to major plot points. To preserve the experience, the following section contains spoilers regarding late-game armor unlocks and the final choice of the game.
The Ghost Armor (Act 2 Spoilers)
You cannot miss this armor, as it is automatically awarded to you during the story mission "From the Darkness" at the end of Act 2. This armor reduces enemy detection speed, reduces the number of kills required to enter the Ghost Stance, and has a chance to terrify nearby enemies upon killing someone. It is the absolute best armor for stealth builds.
The Final Decision (Act 3 Spoilers)
At the very end of the game, after the final duel with Lord Shimura, you are presented with a choice: Kill him or Spare him.
- Kill Him: Jin grants his uncle a warrior's death, honoring his samurai code one last time. You will receive the Righteous Punishment (White) dye for the Ghost Armor.
- Spare Him: Jin fully rejects the samurai code, leaving his uncle alive but in disgrace, fully embracing his role as the Ghost. You will receive the Vow of Vengeance (Red) dye for the Ghost Armor.
Note: Neither choice affects gameplay or post-game content outside of the armor dye you receive. Choose the ending that feels most authentic to your version of Jin Sakai.
